Lic. Rosa Elena López de Ocampo

Director Rosa was the individual whom God raised to inspire and lead what is now the Interactive Christian Institute.

Driven by her passion for teaching, Director Rosa pursued her education through the Normal School system, which was in place until 1974. She graduated from college, becoming a certified Primary Education teacher. Subsequently, she obtained a degree in Pedagogy and pursued further studies to earn a doctorate in Education.

Director Rosa, or Aunt Rosita, as many knew her, always encouraged young girls to pursue education as a career if they had the vocation. She spoke passionately about the nobility of the teaching profession and the vital role of educators. With various practical techniques, she instilled in her three children constant teachings that left indelible marks. Her eldest daughter, Clyde Marlene Ocampo, who is now the Academic Director at ICI, was no exception. She naturally received her mother's influence and inspiration to study, ultimately embracing the teaching profession.

Director Rosa taught Guaraní, Philosophy, Social Studies, and Literature in several schools in Asunción and Ciudad del Este. Her first teaching experience was at the prestigious San Andrés School in the capital city.

Later, she served as the vice-principal for several years at the Albert Schweitzer school in the city of Asunción, and she also assumed the role of acting Director for a period of time.

Upon relocating to Ciudad del Este, she played a pivotal role in founding the Christian Educational Center (CEC School), the first bilingual school in the region.

She encouraged the Dagogliano Ocampo couple to establish a Kindergarten and Preschool, which they named Happy Children School. Director Rosa provided important ideas and directives to bring this project to fruition. Later, with the opening of the first elementary grades, both Director Rosa and Director Jorge joined this endeavor, thus founding the Instituto Cristiano Interactivo in 1997.

Director Rosa had a passion for tending to the school's plants, strolling through the corridors and courtyards, and engaging in conversations with students, faculty, and staff. Her outgoing personality, powerful voice, and warm smile endeared her to all.

In addition to her role as our general director, she managed a small store called "Matices." The primary purpose of this store was to conveniently provide teachers, staff, parents, and students with various school-related items they may need.

Thus, the ICI today bears the mark and influence of Lic. Rosa Elena López de Ocampo, who, with her love for God and her community, dedicated her life to the pursuit of education with passion and dedication.
